Date Night at Hemingways Nairobi: A Romantic Evening to Remember
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hemingways Nairobi and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was blown away by the stunning design and attention to detail. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic date night or a special occasion.
The cocktail menu was extensive and the drinks were expertly crafted. I highly recommend trying the Dragon fruit gin cocktail for a refreshing start to your meal. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, the old fashion is a must-try. The upstairs bar also offers delicious banana and yam baked crisps that are a perfect snack to enjoy with your drinks.
As for the food, every dish was a work of art. The Mediterranean Mezze platter was a standout for me. It was a generous portion and perfect for sharing. The platter included cauliflower, tabbouleh, grilled vegetables, feta cheese, falafel, hummus, olives, and pita bread. Every item on the platter complemented each other perfectly, making it a heavenly dish.
The Slow Cooked Beef Short Rib was another standout dish. The meat was so tender it fell apart at just the sight of my fork. The over-roast garlic mashed potatoes were fluffy and delicious, and the roast vegetables were the perfect complement to the meal
If you’re a fan of lasagna, you have to try Mom’s Rustic Beef Lasagna. The pasta was layered with ricotta cheese, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese, and it came with a side of tomato lettuce salad. It was a very generous portion and incredibly rich.
For dessert, I highly recommend the Trio of Hemingways’ Desserts. The Berry Cheese Cake was thick, dense, and oh-so rich, but it was one of the most amazing cheesecakes I’ve ever had. The Tiramisu was rich, indulgent, creamy, and very delicious. And the Crème Brulee had a velvety custard that was a decadent treat on its own, with its caramelized top providing a satisfying contrast. It was the perfect way to end a perfect meal.
As the African sun begins its descent over the Nairobi skyline, there’s no better place to witness its majestic beauty than from the balcony bar at Hemingways Nairobi. Perched atop this luxurious retreat, guests are treated to a captivating spectacle as the sky transforms into a palette of warm hues, painting the landscape with shades of orange, pink, and gold.
The gentle breeze carries the sounds of the surrounding wilderness, enhancing the serenity of the moment. With a signature cocktail in hand, guests can savor the tranquility and reflect on the day’s adventures while soaking in the breathtaking views of Nairobi National Park stretching out before them.
